The Rundown: Aida begins to learn more about her mother and the power she is trying to learn to wield.

Aida wakes from a nightmare and finds herself meeting Daniel and the two become friends. In the aftermath of her confrontation in the woods, she expresses her concern with Daniel that she is not developing the powers the others are. When Daniel tells her some disturbing information, she immediately goes to confront Brother Reilly who tells her how he knows her mother and is trying to keep her safe until they can go look for her.
As Aida continues to struggle with her lessons, Reilly and Vasha bring her to the headmaster. Upon meeting the headmaster, Aida is told more information about the magic they all use and brought to a location alone where she can see more than she ever thought she would.
The Story: Marquez crafts an entertaining story in this issue. I love the lore and world being created in this series and the mystery at the heart of it. There are so many different elements at play in this story and each one of them works to create a world you want to both explore and experience. I find myself locked into Aida’s journey and look forward to seeing where it goes next.
The Art: Marquez pairs a great story with beautifully detailed and stylish art that captured my imagination. A great looking issue from start to finish.
